After applying steps in first post I can now enjoy my scanner. Hi i have agfa snapscan u scanner. I checked the time and date of the new snape I now can scan 1 page, but finish scan and the scan is halt with red led if I switch off and later switch on the scanner and restart xsane then I can scan other one page. FYI, I did it the same way as described in the first post of this thread. Also use the sane-find-scanner tool, which prints a list of all recognized scanners.
